Weather Changes

Published by jen at 11:49 am under Posts Edit This

Weather Changes = Body Changes

The weather has become more humid in the last few days and my body is really feeling it.  This week I was pretty sore even before I went to Pilates.  So, today I am hoping to take a nap, since sleep always seems to improve my fibromyalgia symptoms.  Research proves that restorative sleep is one if the keys to managing fibromyalgia.  Will a small nap really help or do I need a full 8 hours?  I guess I’ll have to test it out myself.  Back to the weather, though.  I’m not the only person who has more symptoms with weather changes.  Check out this link for more information.  It lists some changes you can make to help fight symptoms as the weather cools, you can dress in layers, stay away from cold temperatures, and open window coverings to allow more light to come inside.  I think I’ll go snuggle in my bed for awhile in an effort to get warmer.

You are not the only one. My bones are beginning to rattle here in Corby, U.K!

Excellent post. I’ve recently self-diagnosed myself with fibro - I don’t have insurance - and have apparently had it for a few years. Humidity, more than any other weather change, almost completely incapacitates me. This summer, we purchased a huge comforter at a garage sale - basically because of the colors and size, but we’ve discovered that apparently, it is stuffed with either wool or cotton (no poly) and it allows me to sleep “dry.” Other covers cause me to get too hot or sweaty, but this just keeps my warm and dry - making it much easier, and less painful, to move during the day.

The link was interesting too - I was diagnosed with “severe” osteoarthritis about 10 years ago so to know that the two are sort of connected intrigued me.

Thanks for this informative blog - I’ll be back.

The weather here affects me too. I don’t know how I get out of bed some mornings. I think the enthusiasm to read your blog got me up today. Hope you are snuggled up and keep warm.

If you can manage it, try having a massage…
