Planning for Fun
Summer Swiftly Approaches
School is drawing to a close for my children. Summer vacation will be here in a matter of days and so far, we have no major plans. Gas prices will make it nearly impossible to travel any distance for a family vacation.
We have lessons as per their individual interests - ice skating, fencing, swimming, surfing, tennis and art. My 13 year old wants to take a “claymation” movie-making class. She also has started her own “teen” blog, yesidoknoweverything. Our 14 year old will be a junior lifeguard again this summer. 7 of our 8 kids will perform in our church’s 4th of July musical, so some of our summer will be spent rehearsing.
Our days will no doubt be filled with trips to the library, beach, mall, park and grandma’s pool. Of course, we will be going to Legoland, too. Levi will make sure of that!
Every year we also see our share of free movies (and free air conditioning) at the Regal Family Film Festival, as well. Here’s the link if you want to check out what’s playing near you.
Speaking of you, what are you gearing up to do this summer?
Remember if you fail to plan, you plan to fail….
