Doing It All

Published by jen at 10:09 pm under Posts Edit This

A Jennifer Kind of Day

My mom loves to use the phrase, “a Jennifer kind of day” when describing a crazy, hectic, run all over the place, can’t possibly get everything done day. By the way, my name is Jennifer, so she must be describing her perception of my life.

And you know what, she’s right. I have many crazy, hectic, run all over the place, can’t possibly get everything done days. It’s the life of deciding to have 8 children and a husband who is an entrepreneur. It’s the life of being a volunteer, active church member, part-time worker, person of many interests and (I hope) talents, and supportive wife, mother, child and friend.  It’s the life I choose to lead

Is everything always perfect?  No.  Is everything always tidy?  No.  Is everything always delicious?  Depends on who you ask.Undecided  But, it’s good enough

So despite the fact that I have fibromyalgia, I still (most of the time, anyway) try to do it all.  I figure that even if life isn’t perfect, the people in my life will know that I care about them by the things I say, show, and do.  That’s got to count for something.

I have those kinds of days too. Maybe I should start calling them Gina kind of days!

“a Jennifer kind of day”, I don’t know Jen this one I would take issue with…describing a crazy, hectic person… Even if it is Mom doing it… Kind of shows how she might think of you, the life you choose and your fibromyalgia or any other set back you might have…

Most likely I not see the whole picture here but using you to describe anything other then a good mother, supportive wife, loving child or friend. Well, just seem like more of a jab at you and an insult, no matter how endearing it me be said.

Yes, you do count for something… not just something to describe a crazy, hectic day…

that is my 2cents, take it for what it’s worth.

I have many “Jennifer” days, and I don’t have 8 children. I don’t know how you do it!

Thanks, Chato (and everyone else for the comments).
Just to clarify, my Mom is very supportive of my choices and loves my kids. She even babysits for me at times! I’ve always thought of the phrase as a cute way to describe a day that is full to brimming over, which is how I would describe my life, most days.
Dan, I’d definitely call it a “Dan kind of day”.
Have a good day, everyone, no matter what kind of day it is. :-D

No clarification need Jen, like I said “Most likely I not see the whole picture here”. If fact, now I’m a bit envious, we’ve been in Florida for 7 years, we have no family down here and have the kids 24-7 with the home schooling… Babysitter? what’s that…lol The last time we got out of the house alone was 3 months ago when her mom came to visit… lol So, “I’m going to make a ruling on this right now” Moms are allowed to give up nick-names no matter what!

Ok, who know where I’m quoting this line from?
“I’m going to make a ruling on this right now”

    Your clue:
Think Boston, it was BORN into a titanic film with lots marky-marks with a French twist.

If you know, post it and tell every one what the clues mean.

Hey Jen, I like this post!! I am totally going to steal that phrase!! I feel like that all the time!! James just came home from work today and asked me what I did all day because my house is totally thrashed. I said absolutly nothing!!! and left it at that. And as you so very well put it “Is everything always perfect? No. Is everything always tidy? No. Is everything always delicious? Depends on who you ask. But, it’s good enough.” (emphisis on the “it’s good enough”) And that’s the kind of day I had!!!
