Date Night
Fondue Fun
This month’s book club read is Our Lady of Weight Loss by Janice Taylor. It is a riot and oddly inspiring.
I’m so glad my husband and I were able to have date night at the Melting Pot last week so that I could eat there prior to reading this book! I love fondue-style eating and I especially like getting some time alone with my husband. With eight kids, the Melting Pot is one of the few places we can actually have uninterrupted adult interaction for more than two hours. We try to get away for date night once a week.
The picture below leaves a little to be desired, but I was trying to show off the dessert platter. We could choose from fresh fruit and brownies to cheesecake and marshmallows to dip in our chocolate fondue. It was so yummy and I must admit I did deviate a little from being gluten-free that night, because I couldn’t resist the bread with our cheese fondue. But, as “Our Lady” puts it, “Thou shalt not deny thyself a treat or two now and then.” So I will count it as a good memory and move on.

That would be a definite side benefit!

But, it’s good enough.
